About Us

Russell County High School, home of the Warriors, serves 1067 students in grades 9-12. The school has a diverse student population, comprising 43% Caucasian, 47% African American, and 10% other. The staff includes 4 administrators, 1 prevention specialist, 2 media specialists, 3 counselors, 57 certified teachers and 6 classified staff.

Located in Seale, Alabama, Russell County High School is situated in a rural residential community with a population of approximately 4,700 residents. Seale is south of Phenix City, Alabama. It is part of a large school system which spans 647 square miles. Many students commute over 30 miles by car or bus to attend. The high school is supported by a single middle school and three elementary schools.

Major employers in the county include the school district and WestRock, the paper mill. The student population lives in a rural environment. The eastern part of Russell County has undergone residential development, mostly as a result of the Fort Benning Base Realignment Movement. Our district currently qualifies for free lunches for all students. Some of the challenges that the school faces are lack of transportation and high poverty.

Russell County High School offers free tutoring services and ACT preparatory lessons to students at the school. Edgenuity is used for credit recovery and extension, and through course remediation during the school year the high school strives to find appropriate support for student learning. Our faculty maintains high expectations with the goal for every student to graduate prepared for college and for life.
