Media Center

The library media center is open 8:40 a.m. - 3:20 p.m. during school days.
Teachers may schedule a visit via email. 
Students may visit the library for research, projects, study time, reading, and check outs at any time, with a hall pass. 

 

Mission

The mission of the district Library-Media Program is to empower all students and educators to become effective users and creators of information and ideas by providing equitable access to diverse resources, technologies, and instructional support. In alignment with the Alabama Course of Study and the AASL National School Library Standards, our program fosters a culture of inquiry, literacy, ethical digital citizenship, and lifelong learning.

Russell County High School Book Search

Destiny Discover allows you to keyword search our collection. Students may login with their RCSD google account for additional features like placing holds on books or checking your account and library fee information. You can even read our ebooks if you login.

Alabama Virtual Library

The Alabama Virtual Library provides all students, teachers, and citizens of the State of Alabama with online access to essential library and information resources. Students can find magazine, journal, eBook and newspaper articles for research. Through the AVL, an equitable core of information sources is available to every student and citizen in Alabama, raising the level of excellence in schools and communities across the state.

Read Books with Libby

With Libby, an app in, you can enjoy free ebooks, digital audiobooks, and magazines from your local library. All you need is a public library card from the Phenix City/Russell County Public Library. It is free. Your parent can bring an ID and a recent utility bill with a current address to sign up for a library card.
