CollegeCounts Scholarship Program

The CollegeCounts Scholarship provides funding assistance to Alabama high school students who demonstrate a financial need and a genuine desire to make a difference. Applicants must be a high school senior or first-time college freshman beginning in fall of the year the scholarship is awarded, be a U.S. citizen, be an Alabama resident and be planning to enroll in an Alabama eligible educational institution in fall. Must demonstrate financial need and have a minimum GPA of 2.75 and an ACT score of 26 or below. For more information or to apply, please visit the scholarship provider's website.

Amount: $1,000

Requirements: (a) Acceptance into accredited mortuary science school, (b) Plans to service the public working in Alabama, (c) Minimum GPA of 2.5, (d) Residency in Alabama, (e) AFDA sponsorship.

Electric Cooperative Foundation.

Students must a dependent child of a member of Tallapoosa River Electric.
Scholarship amounts can range from $500-$5000
Student must be a senior
In order to qualify the student must attend a four year college, a junior college, a technical school or vocational school.

Zeta Phi Beta

Zeta Phi Beta is dedicated to helping students succeed in their communities and educational arena. The belief “that every child can prosper” is echoed throughout the framework of the sorority. The women of the Alpha Alpha Gamma Zeta chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. facilitate a partnership with community stakeholders to increase academic achievement of the youth throughout the community. Each year, Alpha Alpha Gamma Zeta awards scholarships to graduating seniors in Russell County high schools.

Requirements for Students:

Applicant must attend Central High School or Russell County High School in Alabama.
Applicant must be a graduating high school senior (male or female) in the year of the award.
Applicant must have a 2.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
Applicant’s application must demonstrate community involvement.
Applicant must enroll and attend a 4 year accredited college/university the following fall semester.

Things to Remember:
Scholarships exist for athletics, band, choir, theater, dance etc.
Scholarships may exist for specific departments based off of your intended major.
Scholarships may have terms such as maintaining a certain GPA or taking a certain number of hours each semester.
merit-based scholarships typically have a GPA and/or ACT score minimum.
